1. About this notice
This notice explains how Ebor International Limited (“Ebor International”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses personal information when you visit eborinternational.com or contact us through this site.
Ebor International Limited is a company registered in Hong Kong, with its office at 28 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. We are the data controller for the information described here.
We work between Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. In Hong Kong we are subject to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. Where we handle information about people in the United Kingdom, we do so in a way intended to meet the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. Information we collect
When you submit an enquiry through this site. Our contact form asks for your name and surname, your email address, your telephone number and the details of your enquiry. Name, email address and enquiry details are needed for us to respond. Your telephone number is optional.
When you email us. If you write to one of our published addresses, we hold your message and the contact details it contains.
Information about children. Some education enquiries include information about a child, for example a first name, age, current school or academic needs. We ask that you provide only what is necessary at first contact. Section 7 explains how we handle it.
When you browse the site. We use cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics. These collect your IP address, device and browser information, the pages you view and how you arrived at the site. Analytics cookies are only set where you have agreed to them. Our cookie policy explains this in full.
We do not ask for special category information such as health, ethnicity or religious belief, and we ask that you do not include it in an enquiry unless it is directly relevant to the support you are seeking.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- Respond to your enquiry and assess whether we can help. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, responding to an enquiry addressed to us.
- Route your enquiry to the right team or Ebor Group company. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, operating a group of connected businesses.
- Keep a record of enquiries and correspondence. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, running our business and keeping proper records.
- Measure how the site is used. Lawful basis: consent.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered whether our interest in operating the business is outweighed by your interests and rights. We use the information only to answer and manage the enquiry you chose to send us, which is what a person contacting a business would reasonably expect.
Providing your details is voluntary. There is no statutory or contractual obligation to give them. If you do not provide your name, email address and the substance of your enquiry, we will not be able to respond.
We do not use your information for marketing, and we do not send newsletters or promotional email. If that changes, we will update this notice and ask for your consent first.
We do not make any decision about you by automated means, and we do not carry out profiling.
4. Who we share it with
- Our website hosting and maintenance provider, which operates this website on our behalf
- Our email provider, through which enquiries reach us
- Google, in connection with website analytics, where you have agreed to analytics cookies
- Other Ebor Group companies and trading names, where your enquiry relates to their area of activity. These include Ebor Education Ltd, company number 09356068, which delivers the group’s education, tutoring, recruitment and compliance activity, and Ebor Trading
- Professional advisers, regulators or law enforcement, where we are required or permitted by law to do so
Our service providers act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties outside the Ebor Group for their own marketing.
Where an enquiry concerns a specific opportunity, for example a school placement or a supplier introduction, we will tell you before passing your details to any organisation outside the Ebor Group, and we will not do so without your agreement.
5. Where your information is held
Ebor International operates between Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. Your information may be stored in either jurisdiction, and may be accessed by our teams and service providers in both.
Hong Kong is not covered by a United Kingdom adequacy decision. Where personal information originating in the United Kingdom is transferred to Hong Kong, we put appropriate safeguards in place with the receiving party before the transfer is made.

6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a relationship: deleted 24 months after our last contact with you.
- Enquiries that become a client, partner or supplier relationship: kept for the life of that relationship and for 7 years afterwards, in line with normal business record-keeping.
- Website analytics: retained by Google according to the retention setting on our account, and held in a form that does not identify you by name.
Where information is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected, we delete it or put it beyond use.
7. Information about children
Where a parent, guardian or adviser gives us information about a child as part of an education enquiry, we treat it as confidential.
- We use it only to understand the enquiry and identify suitable options.
- We share it only with the Ebor Group company handling the enquiry, and with a school or education provider where you have asked us to make an introduction and have agreed to it.
- We do not publish it, and we do not use it in marketing or case studies.
- We keep it for the periods set out in section 6, and we will delete it sooner on request where we no longer need it.
A parent or person with parental responsibility may exercise the rights in section 8 on the child’s behalf.
If you would prefer not to send a child’s details by web form, email or telephone us and we will agree another way to receive them.
8. Your rights
If you are in the United Kingdom, you have the right to:
- ask us to confirm whether we hold information about you, and to be given a copy
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- ask us to delete information where we no longer need it
- ask us to restrict how we use it while a question about it is resolved
- object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests
- receive information you gave us in a portable electronic format
- withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it
If you are in Hong Kong, you have the right under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance to ask whether we hold personal data about you, to be given a copy, and to ask us to correct it.
To exercise any of these rights, write to office@eborinternational.com. We will respond within one month. We do not charge a fee, unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
9. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at office@eborinternational.com so that we can put it right.
You also have the right to complain to a regulator. In the United Kingdom this is the Information Commissioner’s Office, which can be contacted through its website at ico.org.uk. In Hong Kong it is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, at pcpd.org.hk.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Where a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you.
